Prof. Rajan Suri, founding father van het QRM Center op bezoek bij Variass

Een van de tools die professor Suri ontworpen heeft, is het kaartgebaseerde productiebesturingssysteem POLCA dat bij Variass gebruikt wordt. POLCA, wat staat voor Paired-cell Overlapping Loops of Cards with Authorization is specifiek geschikt voor bedrijven welke veel verschillende klant specifieke producten maken. Prof. Suri was aanwezig op de excursie bij Variass en was zeer onder de indruk van de implementatie van POLCA: "I gratulate Variass with the courage to take the step into POLCA.  The company adapted the POLCA-system to its own characteristics in such a way that it brings success".  Prof. Suri nodigde Variass uit om te participeren in een internationaal QRM-symposium dat volgend jaar in Nederland plaatsvindt (5-7 juni 2012)  "It is a well-documented implementation of POLCA and Variass is one of the POLCA pioneers in North-West Europe", aldus Suri.
